Wordpress site themes

I am planning to switch my website(s) to one site based on Wordpress.

I am wondering how to go about checking that any theme will do all the things I want. I am looking at Themeforest are there other good alternatives?

My spec is quite demanding, I need:
Four separate galleries with a 'landing/launch page' each. These pages are more important than the home page in my opinion.

I will need a picture/photo blog but this is the least important content on the site apart from the fact it will generate dynamic content.

The homepage will have to promote the four galleries, the picture blog should feature but at the bottom of the page or in the side column. ( is there a widget that shows picture blog posts?)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks
